ABOUT

Welcome to my passion project: Force Ten. This website and blog are a place for detailed but easy-to-understand weather and climate forecasts, analysis, documentation, and more. Coverage will be focused on one of the most varied locales in the United States: the state of Ohio and surrounding Great Lakes region.

My interest in weather started with window watching and Weather Channel viewing being a fixture of growing up. Blogging about my interest followed in elementary school and continued through high school, often predicting snow delays and football game conditions and doing weekend forecasts as a part of my school district student newscast. This led me to study the atmosphere in greater detail during college, and turn my passion into a career that has featured forecasting for scientific field work, construction of weather stations, consistent outreach and public presentations, and growing a better understanding of people's weather and climate needs.

With increasing uncertainty around weather and climate, there is a growing demand for meteorological support in agriculture, infrastructure, utilities, logistics, and other sectors. Communicating robust forecasts that embrace accuracy but also recognize uncertainty and even explain failure are an asset in a world where sourcing robust information has become increasingly difficult. After one of the most significant tornado seasons in Ohio's history occurred in 2024, the idea for an enhanced blog format to fulfill these needs took shape and led to this web site. In addition to weather forecasts, you will find seasonal climate pattern overviews, event case studies, photography, and other products with a clear goal: providing concise information centered on how the weather impacts you!
